Heavenly Organics Announces Glyphosate Free Certification on 100% Organic Raw Honey
Heavenly Organics™, manufacturer of 100% Organic, Raw, Pesticide and Antibiotic Free Honey from wild beehives has met the BioChecked™ ZERO Tolerance Standard and is pleased to announce that its White, Neem and Acacia honey varietals are now Glyphosate Free Certified™. Heavenly Organics honey has been scientifically proven to be clean and contaminant free of pesticides. The company has met and agreed to submit to regular independent lab testing for its honey and is the first honey on the market to be Glyphosate Free Certified™.
Glyphosate is an herbicide that is applied to the leaves of plants to kill both broadleaf plants and grasses. Glyphosate was first registered for use in the U.S. in 1974 and is one of the most widely used herbicides. Glyphosate is the key ingredient in Monsanto’s Roundup weed-killer and hundreds of other products. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is finalizing a risk assessment for glyphosate to determine if future use should be limited.
Currently, there is no “maximum residue limit” (MRL) or tolerance level set for glyphosate found in honey in the U.S. In 2016, all U.S. honey samples, even organic brands, tested by the FDA contained glyphosate residues. Some of the honey showed residue levels double the limit allowed in the European Union, per documents obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request. Glyphosate is considered by the World Health Organization to be a probable human carcinogen.
The growing concern for the safety of the food people are ingesting and the detrimental impacts these pesticides are having on both our health and our environment are critical issues, and Heavenly Organics has been leading the charge and setting the bar for contaminant-free honey.
“We couldn’t be more excited to announce that we are Glyphosate Free Certified™,” said Co-founder and CEO of Heavenly Organics, Amit Hooda. “We hope this partnership with BioChecked™, brings even more awareness to the use of pesticides and how they are having a negative impact on human health, the environment, and bee colonies worldwide. The government needs to set a tolerance level for glyphosate found in honey and create a universal labeling system, because people have the right to know what’s in their food.”
In contrast to the honey being affected by these pesticides and chemicals, Heavenly Organics sources its raw and organic honey from wild beehives located in the untouched forests of Northern and Central India and parts of the Himalayas, for the absolute purest and most delicious honey on the market. Since these naturally occurring, wild beehives are found in such remote areas, the bees are far from the reach of pesticides and other pollutants. Also, since Heavenly Organics’ proprietary honey collection method is bee-friendly and smoke free, the company is proud to say that they protect approximately 500 million bees per year. Heavenly Organics Raw Honey is 100% Organic and Non-GMO Project Verified, which is unattainable in most regions today.
BioChecked™ has several independent third party certification programs for producers that want to become leaders in environmental and health friendly actions. BioChecked™ brands have become the leading industry “Marks of Consumer Environmental and Health Awareness.”

Why Beer in Cans?
By the late 19th century, cans were instrumental in the mass distribution of foodstuffs, but it wasn’t until 1909 that the American Can Company began experimenting with canned beer. The cans couldn’t not withstand the pressure from the carbonation (up to 80 pounds per square inch) and exploded.
Canned beer made its debut on this January 24,1935. In partnership with the American Can Company, the Gottfried Krueger Brewing Company delivered 2,000 cans of Krueger’s Finest Beer and Krueger’s Cream Ale to faithful Krueger drinkers in Richmond, Virginia. Ninety-one percent of the drinkers approved of the canned beer, driving Krueger to give the green light to further production.
Starting in the early 1960’s aluminum started replacing tin cans. Today, aluminum cans contain more that 51% recycled content. “Cans are arguably the best package for beer,” says Greg Taylor, professional brewer, cicerone and business development manager at Fizzics. “No light passes through, they aren’t oxygen permeable, they’re eco-friendly, more affordable to ship, lighter, less breakable, more portable.”
The craft beer industry is quickly moving from bottles to cans with many breweries adding cans to their lineups because they’re cheap, they travel well, and they keep damaging light from hitting the beer inside. “Skunking is caused when UV rays interact with the alpha acids dissolved in the beer, [breaking] them down to a compound that reacts with the sulphur in the beer,” says Taylor. “Alpha acids lend bitterness to the beer and come from the addition of hops in the boil. Hoppier beers are therefore more at risk for skunking.”
Glass bottles are recyclable, and the typical bottle is made with between 20 and 30 percent recycled material. But, glass is heavy. Glass bottles have a larger carbon footprint when it comes to transportation. They also take a large amount of thick cardboard packaging to make sure the fragile glass bottles don’t break. According to Slate, transporting a bottle emits 20 percent more greenhouse gases than a can.
Cans are a lot lighter than bottles. That means they have a smaller carbon footprint than glass (as noted above), but also that they take less cardboard to hold and transport. Furthermore, cans are made with much more recycled content than glass bottles. According to The Aluminum Association, cans are typically made with 70 percent recycled content, and people recycle their cans 20 percent more often than they recycle glass.
The beer buying staff at the Harvest Moon invites you to check out all the fabulous beer in both cans & bottles!!

The Top 2 Supplements Almost Everyone Needs
There are 2 things that most modern people are deficient in, Magnesium and Vitamin D, and both of these nutrients are extremely important for our overall health and wellbeing.
Let’s take a look at both.
Magnesium
Some experts claim that magnesium deficiency is the single largest health problem in our world today, and some estimates suggest that over 90% of us are deficient.
Magnesium is responsible for over 300 biochemical reactions in the body and impacts blood pressure, metabolism, immune function and many other aspects of health.
Magnesium is necessary for production of DNA and RNA and other proteins, cell signaling, nerve impulses, muscle contractions, and normal heart rhythm. It is required for synthesis of glutathione, our body’s most powerful antioxidant and detoxifying agent. It is important for bone health, decreasing metabolic syndrome, easing anxiety, irritability and depression, and necessary for mitochondria and energy production (ATP). There are 3,700 binding sites for magnesium on proteins throughout the body and it is found in more than 300 different enzymes. (1)
Magnesium is needed to stimulate the hormone calcitonin which draws calcium out of the muscles and soft tissues and into the bones. This helps explain why magnesium helps lower the risk of heart attack, osteoporosis, arthritis and kidney stones.
And finally, magnesium is needed for Vitamin D to turn on calcium absorption- this is why it is also important to get enough magnesium when taking Vitamin D (or magnesium levels can become even more depleted). (2)
There are many delicious whole foods that contain magnesium, but can we get all we need from food today? There are many reasons that deficiency is so widespread in modern times (even though it wasn’t in the past).
Depleted soil conditions mean that plants (and meat from animals that feed on these plants) are lower in magnesium. Use of chemicals like fluoride and chlorine in the water supply make magnesium less available in water since these chemicals can bind to magnesium.
Common substances that many of us consume daily, like caffeine and sugar, also deplete the body’s magnesium levels. So does stress. So, while eating whole foods is always the first step, supplementation is also most likely necessary unless you live near the ocean. (2)
But, which magnesium supplement is right for you? Here is a list of the different types and their most common uses:
Topical magnesium chloride – Some people claim that magnesium is best absorbed trans dermally, since it bypasses the digestive tract and doesn’t cause as much of a laxative effect.
* Magnesium sulfate – Epson salt – to relax muscles and detox. Not so much is absorbed on a deeper level.
* Magnesium chelate – highly absorbable by the body and the kind found in foods naturally. This type is bound to multiple amino acids (proteins) and used to restore magnesium levels.
* Magnesium glycinate – Best for anyone with a deficiency.
* Magnesium malate – Good for Fibromyalgia, muscle pain and low energy.
* Magnesium taurate or magnesium orotate – Best for those with cardiovascular issues.
* Magnesium threonate – Best for neurological and cognitive symptoms, the only form that can cross the blood-brain barrier.
* Magnesium citrate – General supplement for good absorption, if you’re struggling with constipation or restless leg syndrome during pregnancy, but long-term it can lower your ceruloplasmin levels, which helps to regulate iron and copper in your body. You want healthy levels of ceruloplasmin to avoid unbound iron and/or copper issues.
* Magnesium Orotate – these supplements have orotic acid, and magnesium orotate is beneficial to the heart.
* Magnesium Oxide – Least expensive but not as well absorbed. (3), (4).

Vitamin D
Vitamin D is not just important for your bones. Data shows that nearly every tissue and cell type in the body has receptors for vitamin D. As a result of this discovery, much higher doses are required for optimal functioning. Unless your body is at optimal levels, you are opening the door to a host of disorders, ranging from heart disease and Alzheimer’s to weak bones and diabetes.
From an evolutionary standpoint, we are meant to be outside 10-12 hours a day. Our skin is a solar panel for the absorption of Vitamin D. Unfortunately, we are all chronically low in Vitamin D as we spend most of our days indoors.
People with higher levels of vitamin D age more slowly than those with lower levels. This is likely related to vitamin D enhancing the length of telomeres and inhibiting inflammation.
Vitamin D plays a role in the health of numerous parts of the body including the brain, heart, skin, ovaries, breasts, testes, and prostate. It is also necessary for maintaining strong bones and muscles- in fact, a deficiency of vitamin D can cause muscle and bone pain. Optimal levels may reduce your risk for several health problems including autoimmune diseases, depression, cognitive decline, high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes. Vitamin D may also prevent cancer- research on cancer prevention and vitamin D levels is strongest for cancers of the breast, prostate, and colon.
Your skin makes vitamin D from sun exposure. Unfortunately, however, the skin becomes less efficient at producing vitamin D as you age. If you take vitamin D supplements, ideally your dosage should be based on lab testing. It’s important to note that too much vitamin D can lead to kidney stones and calcification of soft tissue therefore it is necessary to make sure that your vitamin D is taken with vitamin A and vitamin K2 MK7. (1)
Most good vitamin D3 supplements come from cholecalciferol or lanolin from lamb’s wool. Cod liver oil is also a good source of vitamin D, and fermented cod liver oil contains the right proportion of vitamins D and A. But, healthy sunscreen free sun exposure is always the best choice.
